Devon Petersen and Marvin Van Velzen took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Adam Mould in Saturday’s Finale at the ADC Global Championship.
Petersen, who last appeared at the Live Lounge back in October, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against James Welding, Donny Scheurwater, James Bailey and Ivan Springborg Poulsen, with his only defeat coming against Shane Hayward, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, James Welding and Donny Scheurwater ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Shane Hayward and Ivan Springborg Poulsen sit 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with James Bailey sitting bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Marvin Van Velzen took the early lead after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Joe Croft, Charlie Martin, Gary Stone and John Desreumaux, to sit on a maximum 8 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Gary Stone ended the evening in 2nd on 6 points, whilst the remaining three players in Charlie Martin, Joe Croft and John Desreumaux sit 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The ADC Global Championship continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Adam Mould in Saturday’s Finale, with Petersen and Van Velzen taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
