Steph Clarke and Laura Turner took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their
respective groups, top, as they look to join Gemma Hayter in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Clarke, who entered Group C having finished bottom of Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead after winning four of her five matches, as she recorded victories against Sophie McKinlay, Paige Pauling, Trina Gulliver and Vicky Pruim, with her only defeat coming against Katie Sheldon, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Paige Pauling also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Clarke due to leg difference, whilst Vicky Pruim sits in 3rd on 6 points, Sophie McKinlay and Katie Sheldon sit 4th and 5th respectively on 4 points each and Trina Gulliver bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
In Group B, Laura Turner (pictured) took the early lead after winning three of her four matches, as she recorded victories against Kirsi Viinikainen, Robyn Byrne and Lisa Ashton, with her only defeat coming against Lorraine Winstanley, to sit on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Robyn Byrne also ended the evening on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Turner due to leg difference, whilst Kirsi Viinikainen and Lorraine Winstanley sit 3rd and 4th respectively on 4 points each, with Lisa Ashton sat bottom on 0 points having suffered four straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Gemma Hayter in Saturday’s finale, with Clarke and Turner taking the early lead thus far.
Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
