Richie Howson was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Legends League Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Steve Beaton in the final and claiming the £5,000 top prize.
Howson, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Darryl Fitton and Neil Duff to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Devon Petersen, and from there, ‘The Owl’ dispatched of ‘The African Warrior’, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Howson came up against Steve Beaton, who’d defeated Neil Duff in the last four, and in a battle between two veterans of the sport, it was Howson who came out on top, as he defeated ‘The Bronzed Adonis’, 4-2, to become the inaugural Legends League Champion at the Super Series, as well as collecting £5,000 in prize money.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with Series Ten commencing and the start of Week One, with the first of three days of Group A and the field including Series Six Champion Scott Taylor. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
