World Seniors: Legends Hand Out Lesson

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

Friday was a day for the big names and iconic figures at the fourth World Seniors Darts Championship from the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.

Legends Steve Beaton, Richie Burnett, John Henderson, Robert Thornton and multiple WSD major winner Leonard Gates all reached the quarterfinals with Graham Usher, Ross Montgomery and Derek Coulson joining them.

Steve Beaton during the World Senior Darts Championships 2025 at the Circus Tavern, Purfleet, United Kingdom on 21 February 2025.

Beaton has definitely taken to Seniors darts and looked even more comfortable a 301 demolition of the previous rounds giant killer Paul Hogan.

The scoreline of John Henderson’s (3-1) victory over Chris Mason does not quite tell the full story, Early on Mason had many chances and played some superb darts. ‘Hendo’ had to reset and really battle through to keep his chances of retaining the title alive.

Robert Thornton during the World Senior Darts Championships 2025 at the Circus Tavern, Purfleet, United Kingdom on 21 February 2025.

Robert Thornton is not to be ruled out of gaining a hattrick of titles, he seems to be back to regular performances of around the 90 average and can run away with matches as he did against Darryl Fitton.
