Smith Wins First Super Series Weekly Crown

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

JEFF Smith was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Danny Ayres in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.

Popular Canadian Smith, who entered the finale having won Group A earlier in the week, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he came through deciding leg victories against Danny Ayres and Gary Stone to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against David Evans, and from there, Smith defeated ‘Stretch’ 4-2 to book his place in the final.

In the decider, Smith came up against Danny Ayres for the second time on the night, who’d defeated James Hubbard in the last four, and once again, ‘The Silencer’ got the better of his English opponent as he came through yet another last leg shootout to defeat Ayres, 4-3, and booked his place into Champions Week of Series 11 as well as collecting the top prize.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including Former PDC Tour Card Holders in Jamie Hughes and Colin Osborne.

Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
