Scott Taylor, Tom Cromwell, Bradly Roes, Mike Warburton and Jamie Hughes all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the MODUS Super Series, to join Steven Johnstone, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Scott Taylor topped Group B after winning two of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Mike Warburton and Colin Osborne, with his two defeats coming against Jamie Hughes and Lewis Gurney, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Mike Warburton and Jamie Hughes also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 8 points each, whilst Colin Osborne and Lewis Gurney finished 4th and 5th on 6 points each.
Cromwell, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning three of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Wes Newton, Lloyd Walker and Kent Sivertsen, with his two defeats coming against Bradly Roes and Jack Tweddell, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Bradly Roes also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging out Jack Tweddell and Lloyd Walker, who also ended on 12 points each, with Tweddell missing out due to legs won across two days of play and Walker on leg difference, whilst Kent Sivertsen finished 5th on 6 points and Wes Newton bottom on 2 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Two with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with the action commencing from 7:30pm BST.
