Andy Hamilton was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Five at the MODUS Super Series, after defeating Carl Sneyd in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and claim the weekly title.
Hamilton, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly suffered a defeat to Justin Smith, before defeating Conor Heneghan to progress through to the Semi Finals.
At final four stage, Hamilton came up against Michael Huntley and from there, ‘The Hammer’ defeated his Welsh opponent, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Hamilton came up against Carl Sneyd, who’d defeated Justin Smith in the last four, and in a battle of the English duo, it was Hamilton who came out on top as he defeated Sneyd, 4-3, to seal his place in Champions Week once again as well as collecting the first prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Six, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including the Former WDF World Champion Neil Duff.
