Berwick Darts Academy recently announced that they have been proudly welcomed into the Target Darts Elite 1 Academy Programme.
Although the academy only launched in October 2024, it’s already making serious strides in the grassroots darts scene. Based in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, it’s home to more than 30 enthusiastic young players, guided by a committed group of mentors who are clearly doing something right.
Catering to players aged 12 to 17, Berwick Darts Academy has plans to expand its reach to even younger age groups in the near future. Their coaching approach is built on the basics – stance, grip, throw, and follow-through – but also shines a light on the mental side of the sport. Confidence, focus, and the ability to recover from setbacks are all part of the package here.
As a proud JDC-affiliated academy, Berwick is already punching above its weight, with several players making their mark on the national stage. And with a JDC ranking event set to be hosted by the academy in 2026, there’s a real sense of momentum building. With Target’s support now behind them, we expect that upward trajectory to continue.

As an official Elite 1 Academy, Berwick will now receive access to professional-level equipment, exclusive coaching tools, and dedicated support from the Target team to help drive their development even further. This is a big step forward for the academy, and a partnership we’re genuinely excited about.
