Jimmy Van Schie & Danny Van Trijp secured their place in Saturday’s International Pairs finale on Wednesday, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five to end their Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.
Van Schie & Van Trijp, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall after winning all five of their matches.
The Dutch duo recorded victories against Dawson Murschell & Jeff Smith (Canada), Richie Burnett & Kurt Parry (Wales), Andreas Harrysson & Anton Ostlund (Sweden), Scott Campbell & Robert Thornton (Scotland) and Carl Gabriel & Devon Petersen (South Africa), to end on 26 points from a possible 30 overall.
Elsewhere, Harrysson & Ostlund and Murschell & Smith will both compete in Group B, after both pairs finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Team Sweden ending on 20 points and Team Canada on 18 points.
They will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Steve Beaton & Adrian Lewis (England), Conor Heneghan & John O’Shea (Ireland) and Jason Brandon & Alex Spellman (USA).
Burnett & Parry, Campbell & Thornton and Gabriel & Petersen will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4th, 5th and 6th respectively overall, with Team Wales ending on 14 points, Team Scotland on 10 points and Team South Africa on 2 points.
The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Rene Eidams & Paul Krohne (Germany), Stefan Bellmont & Bruno Stockli (Switzerland) and Ivan Springborg-Poulsen & Andreas Toft-Jorgensen (Denmark).
The MODUS Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST.
