Henry Coates was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Rising Stars Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Ryan Branley in the final and claiming the £5,000 top prize.
Coates, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated James Buckby, before suffering a defeat to Nathan Potter.
However, Coates did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Charlie Manby, and from there, the teenager defeated his compatriot, 4-1, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Coates came up against Ryan Branley, who’d defeated Nathan Potter in the last four, and nothing separated the pair throughout the tie until Coates sealed the victory in a last leg decider to pick up the inaugural Rising Stars title as well as the £5,000 first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the second edition of International Pairs Week commencing, with the first of three days of Group A and the field to be announced in due course.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
