Scott Waites was victorious on Sunday, in winning his maiden Challenge Tour title, after defeating Michel Unterbuchner in the decider of Event 20, as the fourth weekend of the PDC’s second tier tour season ended in Leicester.
Former Grand Slam Champion, Waites, reached the final firstly by recording victories against Conor Roberts, Petros Christodoulou, Michael Flynn, Graham Hall, Lee Evans, Patrick Dekker and Ted Evetts, to set up a clash with Unterbuchner.
The final began with Unterbuchner racing into a 2-0 lead with winning legs coming in 11 and 14 darts respectively, before Waites dominated the remainder of the tie as he rattled off five successive legs and sealed the victory in Leg Seven with a 16 darter to pick up a first Challenge Tour title as well as the £2,500 top prize.
The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour season concludes between 25-26th October with Events 21-24 taking place at the Robin Park Leisure Centre, Wigan.
All live scores and results will be viewed via tv.dartconnect.com. The top two players from the final 2025 Challenge Tour Order of Merit will secure a PDC Tour Card for 2026/27 as well as the top three players securing places at the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.
