Wilson Joins Winmau

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

Congratulations to Carl Wilson, who is now officially a Winmau player. In an exclusive interview with our very own AJ Urmston-Toft, the 36-year-old spoke excitedly about the news:

“Dreams do come true. I’ve been playing with the Winmau Stratus darts for about six years now, and they mean a lot to me. They were given to me by Keith Inglis, who said: ‘If you ever do anything in darts, Carl, use these.’ And I haven’t been able to put them down since. They just work for me.”

After sealing second place on the ADC Winmau Championship Tour and earning a spot at the Global Championships in December, Gok – as he’s affectionately known – is already looking ahead to 2026.

“I’ll be heading to Q-School, and getting a Tour Card is the target. But if I don’t get through that, then it’s full focus on the ADC – which is only getting bigger and better. It’s been a fantastic learning curve so far, and I’ll definitely be continuing down that path.

“I may look at a few WDF events too, and possibly the Challenge Tour, but my personal favourite remains MODUS. I’m still getting invites – something I feel incredibly lucky for – and I want to keep pushing on that journey.”

Wilson has been a regular on the PDC Challenge Tour this year, gaining valuable experience – and a few quid – along the way. Two wins on the ADC Tour, both at Bradmoor Farm earlier in the season, helped elevate the Kent chucker to second in the standings. Heading into the final weekend in Leicester, catching Jack Tweddell was always going to be like chasing Mo Farah in a marathon after giving him a ten-mile head start.

However, if there’s one stage Carl would love to crack, it’s the Live Lounge down in Portsmouth.

“Yeah, I do feel at home there. I’ve maybe been a bit under par so far, but when I’m relaxed and in the right headspace, I know there’s that little bit extra I can give at MODUS. The goal is to pick up a win or two, get some consistency, and hopefully earn a spot at Champions Week.

“Back in September 2024, I was in a seriously tough group with Steve West, Neil Duff, Bradley Brooks, and Darius Labanauskas. I played alright, but I just didn’t give it as much as I’d have liked. I know I’ve got more.

“Locally, I’m known for my power scoring – when I’m on, I can really turn the heat on. I haven’t quite shown that yet at MODUS, but I know it’s there.”

This is a player on the rise – and if he propels to the stardom of his doppelganger Gok Wan (and presumably the reason behind the nickname), we might be seeing Carl on the box as much as the versatile TV presenter.
