Lancashire Superman Grabs a Vault Hatrick

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

After a busy weekend of oche action stretching from Budapest to Indiana, there was still plenty of tungsten flying closer to home as the ADC Vault 14.0 series gathered steam.

In Bolton, it was an heroic effort from Superman Matt Clark, who claimed the week’s highest average. Mundane really, for a bloke who could freeze a lake with a single breath.

Sadly, it’s been a while since he was spotted flying around Lancashire saving people from burning buildings. These days – or more accurately last Monday – he rocked up to the Rogue Sports Bar and beat Connor Bridger in a last-leg decider. A tidy 90.88 tournament average secured him the accolade for the week. Oh … and he won two more events during the week too.

Elsewhere, there was no shortage of lads also completing hat-tricks of wins. Alphabetically (because that’s how the spreadsheet landed), we start with Carl Wilson. Hardly shocking – when he’s not in the kitchen tossing salads, he’s out nicking titles.

This week it was East Grinstead, Crowborough, and Tunbridge Wells, with enough time for a little lie-down in between.Tipton locals, beware: if Dan Nicholls is in the neighbourhood, you can forget about winning. He bagged a few more victories, bouncing between Samba Darts and Tipton Sports Academy – and no doubt samba’d his way home with the prize money. More likely he walked – but with a celebration induced sway.Scrolling down to the G’s, Graham Hall was at it again.

Evesham and Redditch were his hunting grounds this week, and he bagged both with mid-80s tournament averages. Consistent and deadly – that’s our G-Man. Jack Howarth decided three wasn’t enough and nabbed four. In a schedule that sounds suspiciously like a Craig David song, he won on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday – and probably chilled on Wednesday.

Jamie Chaplin hit his own treble, highlighted by a high-80s average at The Church Wicketts in Dawley. Lloyd Walker showed off and bagged his three in just two days – Portsmouth on Thursday, then a Waterlooville double on Sunday. Handy when MODUS Live Lounge is practically down the road.

Michael Wiles was steady with wins in and around Colchester and that pensioner favourite holiday destination, Clacton-on-Sea. Paul Holloway picked up his in Stevenage and Dunstable, no 80+ average required.

And north of the border, Scott Winder grabbed his triple – followed, one surmises, by triple of the whisky variety to celebrate. If I’ve missed anyone, apologies – there are roughly four million of these events a week. Okay, maybe not that many, but it’s a lot. And if you fancy a crack, take note: there are still places where an average under 60 will nick you a title.

Those are the kind of stats the rest of us mere mortals can work with. That’s your lot for this week’s Vault round-up. If you’re heading out to play, best of luck – and may your doubles behave.
