The Four Oaks and District League have got their new season underway with the premliminary round of their Coronation Shield, the biggest winners of the round being Deer’s Leap who accounted for newcomers to the league Misfits @ Holly Lane Sports and Social Club with a 13-2 result. Nomads @ Hollyfields were not too far behind with their 12-3 victory at Rosey Mac’s Bar while Erdington Arrows were 11-4 winners at Rosey Mac’s. Both Bishop Vesey and Old Horns Lions had 10-5 victories in their games in turn against Highcroft Hotdogs and Minworth Bulls. Oscott Social had a 10-5 win at Sutton Sharks while Pint Pot Flights were 9-0 winners against Beggars Bush. Heartlands, Rise Club, Drakes Drum and Walmley CSC Flights all won 9-6 against respective opponents Sutton Sports, Charley’s Flights, Old Oscott Arrows and St Thomas Arrows while there were 8-7 wins for both St Thomas Lions and Hollyfields who in turn accounted for Great Barr Social and Plough and Arrows.

Week nine in the Sheldon and District Summer League saw no change in either group one, two or group three tables although the group one leaders, Raven Arrows were held to a 4-4 draw away to their nearest rivals Langley Arrows, Jack Alexander hitting two maximums for Raven. Tom Cupkovic (Trident Spears) also hit a maximum in his team’s 6-2 defeat at Highwood while Jack Young (Mackadown Sports and Social Club) also found the three treble twenties as his side lost 5-3 at home to Brian’s Flights.
Group two leaders Banbury Club also finished all-square at 4-4 in their game at EBAHA who are just one place off the foot of the table, however Banbury remain at the top of the table with fourteen points and have a lead of two over second placed RAFA who also had a 4-4 draw at Smithswood Social Club.
Group three leaders Old Salts Darts, with a maximum from Danny Chiswell, had a convincing 7-1 home win over Langley Flights to extend their lead to six points as second in the group Sheldon Marlborough Ridge could only draw 4-4 at Moseley Rugby Club.
Lyndon Old Boys continue to lead group four, their 6-2 win at Sheldon Marlborough Flights keeping intact their four points lead on second placed Langley Pints who were also 6-2 winners at Station Inn.

Northfield Conservative Club took their unbeaten run in the Harborne and District League to twenty-six games with a very convincing 9-0 win at home over Thimble Mill. With the leaders already acclaimed champions the fight is on for the runners-up spot as three teams are battling it out for the second place. Copper Fox ‘R’, Copper Fox ‘M’ and Northfield Darts Club are all on forty-four points, eight short of the champions, all of them with three more games to play. In the latest round of fixtures Copper Fox ‘R’ gained a vital 6-3 win at Northfield Darts Club while Copper Fox ‘M had a clear-cut 8-1 home win over Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club.

The Shirley and District Monday Night League are up to week nine in their season and leading division one with fourteen points is langley ‘A’ whose latest fixture saw them win 8-1 at Stirchley. Second placed Bears trail the leaders by seven legs of average after they won 5-4 at Highwood. Tippetts Bar are third their 7-2 win at HSCC leaving them two points behind the top two teams but with a game in hand.
There were two maximums scored in top division and they were supplied by Sam Hull-Abbotts (HSCC) and Dave Cherry (Tippetts Bar).
Division two leaders Banbury are the only team in the league with a 100% win record, their latest victory coming at hoem where they won 5-4 against fifth in the division Nomads, Mick Noonan hitting a maximum for banbury. Shirley Misfits are two points behind Banbury in second place but theyhave played one game more than Banbury. Sharmans lost their home tie with Saracens Slingers 5-4 with Neil Warner hitting a 180 for the hosts.

No change in division one of the South West Birmingham Clubs League after the results from game nine have been added on. Northfield Darts Club continue to lead division one with sixteen points, their latest fixture seeing them win 6-1 at Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’ with A.Chidley and L.Fowler scoring maximums for the winners. Stirchley United are second in the division, their similar 6-1 home win over fourth placed Quarry Lane Club leaving them four points behind the leaders.
In division two it’s Longbridge United who are in pole position, their 6-1 win at Bartley Green FC taking their points tally to fourteen and giving them an average lead of eleven legs over second placed West Heath CEM, whose 4-3 win at E57 put them on the same fourteen points as the leaders. P.Hughes hit a maximum for Longbridge.

There were mixed fortunes for Steve Cain, leader of the Heartlands Sugardarts M&E Co Double Top League this week as he began the night with a convincing 3-0 win over Charley Demery but them went down 2-1 to third in the league Matthew Cain. The two results for Steve Cain keep him top of the table with seventy-seven points from thirty-three games which is now only four points more than second placed Martin Cooper who has two games in hand after adding on his two 3-0 wins over Steve McCormack and George Drennan. In addition to his win over Steve Cain, Matthew Cain beat Adam Rogers 3-0 to give him a total of seventy points and although seven off the top he has five games in hand on Steve Cain. Dean Bond notched the only maximum of the nigt in his 2-1 win over L.J.Austin.

The Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League have got their new campaign underway with a very encouraging twenty teams and of those twenty teams only one won their opener 9-0 and that was Quarry Bank Liberal Club who beat their hosts Red Lion to top the table as the early pacesetters with D.Edwards scoring a maximum for the winners. Wonder have topped the Rowley Monday Night League for the majority of the season but their latest encounter away to reigning champions and second placed Bell saw them for the very first time in twenty-four games, lose!! Jason Lowe took his points tall at the to of the Amblecote RBL Premier League to 332 from 50 games with 6-1 wins over Jake Robinson and Jake Shipley while Nick Fullwell beat Martyn Harper 7-0 before losing 5-2 to seventh placed Gavin Smith to leave him on 313 points from 51 games in second place. Ian Townsend is third on 298 points from 50 games, he had a 5-3 win over Ryan Hardman followed by a 4-3 win against Kian Rogers.

Scott Baker consolidated his number one spot in division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League handing out an 8-0 whitewash to Ben Forrest to give him a total of 183 points from 22 games. Second in the division Simon Mountford didn’t play this week and although he has played 23 games he is 41 short of Baker.
Michael Smith tops division two with 188 points from 24 games after he was held to a 4-4 draw by his nearest rival Richard Brown who remains 32 points short of Smith after he has played two games more than him.
Division three leader Olly Garratt didn’t play this week and although second placed Troy Simmonds played and won 7-1 against Charlie Baker, he remains 25 points behind Garratt.

Only average separates the top two teams in the singles league of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League, a 5-2 home win over Woodfield keeping Junction ‘B’ top of the table with an average lead of three legs over Dog and Partridge ‘B’ who were 6-1 winners at Ashmore. After the top two there are three teams all on fourteen points, Ashmore, New Gate Inn and Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ who are all fourteen points, four off the top of the table.
A 2-1 home win over Bradmore Arms sees Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’ share the top of the doubles league table with New Gate Inn who had a 3-0 home win over Junction ‘C’ to put them level on points and average with Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’. Third placed Junction ‘D’ had a 2-1 win at Dog and Partridge ‘A’ to put them level on sixteen points with the two teams above them and trailing by just one single leg of average.
