Alex Williams and Derek Coulsen took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Jeffrey De Zwaan in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Williams, who last appeared at the Super Series back in May, made a long-awaited return by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Marcel Otter, Tomoya Goto, Barry Copeland and Tom Cromwell, with his only defeat coming against Danny Van Trijp, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Tom Cromwell and Tomoya Goto ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Danny Van Trijp and Barry Copeland sit 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with Marcel Otter sitting bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Derek Coulsen took the early lead after winning three of his four matches on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Mark Dudbridge, Mike Gillet and Jamie Hughes, with his only defeat coming against Scott Robertson, to sit on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Mark Dudbridge also ended the night on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Coulsen on leg difference, whilst Jamie Hughes sits in 3rd on 4 points, with Scott Robertson and Mike Gillet finished 4th and 5th on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Jeffrey De Zwaan in Saturday’s finale, with Williams and Coulsen taking the early lead thus far.
Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT.
