Hayter Eases To Vault National Finals Glory

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

The WADC held their Vault National Finals as part of a bumper weekend of darts at Bradmoor Farm, and Gemma Hayter reigned supreme in Aylesbury, whitewashing Lauryn Salter 5-0 in the final to scoop the first prize.

Like their ADC male counterparts, the Vault National Finals featured over 64 players who had qualified on merit after a season of playing WADC vault competitions, and it was Hampshire’s Hayter that emerged as the winner.

After breezing through the group stages without losing a match, Hayter then beat Vicky Cauteruccio 3-0 to make the last 16, where she overcame Vickie Louise, 3-1.

The Women’s World Matchplay quarter finalist was tested by Stacey Aylesbury in the last eight, eventually completing a 4-2 win, before blasting into the title match with a 4-0 thrashing of Ann Wakefield.

Salter, best-known for stunning Beau Greaves by defeating the three-time world champion on the PDC Women’s Series circuit, put old Jo Oldershaw 3-1 in the last 32, and dropped just one more leg in making the final, ousting Kacie O’Connor, Jo Clements and then Lisa Brosnan with a 79.11 average to book a showdown with Hayter.

Hayter’s experience shone through in the showpiece, as she controlled the action, and ended with an 84.44 average to race to the title , an 84 finish completing victory as she went home with the trophy and the £800 first prize on offer.
