Mervyn King took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning three of his five matches, with Week 12 of Series 12 commencing at the Modus Super Series.
King, who last appeared at the Super Series back in May, made his return by taking the early lead in Group A after winning three matches from five, as he recorded victories against Archie Self, Jim Mayer and Gary Mawson, with his two defeats coming against Rowby-John Rodriguez and Johan Geldenhuys, to sit on 6 points from a possible 10 thus far.

Elsewhere, three players in Johan Geldenhuys, Gary Mawson and Rowby-John Rodriguez also ended the day on 6 points each, but sit 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively behind King due to legs won across the day for Geldenhuys and leg difference for Mawson and Rodriguez, whilst Archie Self sits in 5th on 4 points and Jim Mayer bottom on 2 points.
Many will have been pleased to see Mawson’s return to our screens and European darts in general. The 62-year-old from Ohio in the USA was a PDC stalwart from the 1990s before reaching the UK Open final in 2008. Recent years have seen The Mauler play more USA based darts and triumpn again on the CDC circuit!
The MODUS Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with King leading the way thus far.
Play will be streamed on the MODUS Super Series YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
