Highcroft Hotdogs made it eight wins in eight games in division one of the Sutton and District League when they won 7-2 at Rosey Mac’s to consolidate their pole position and two points lead on second placed Nomads @ Hollyfields who went one better with their 8-1 home win over Charley’s Flights. Third placed Bishop Vesey are on twelve points, four off the top after they won 7-2 at Old Oscott Arrows with Martin Partridge recording a 160 break. Fourth and fifth placed Erdington Arrows and Old Horns Lions are both on ten points, Erdington winning 5-4 at home against Walmley CSC Flights, Old Horns having a game in hand.
Division two leaders, Rise Club made it eight straight wins when they won 7-2 at home against Sutton Sports, the win keeping their two points advantage over second and third placed Great Barr Social and Plough and Arrows intact. Great Barr Social and Plough and Arrows, like the leaders both won 7-2, the former at Beggars Bush and the latter at home over St Thomas Arrows. Fourth in the division Hollyfields were 8-1 winners at Minworth Bulls putting them on twelve points, the same number as fifth placed Pint Pot Flights who with a maximum from Neil Napier won 6-3 at Deer’s Leap.

The Sheldon and District Winter League are up to week seven and in the latest premier league games the top four teams held on to their places with leaders Sheldon Marlborough Arrows adding a vital 6-3 win at Highwood to open up a four points lead on their second placed hosts, however Highwood do have a game in hand. Third placed Langley Arrows have only played five games and are a further two points adrift, in their latest fixture they won 7-2 playing away against Smithswood Social Club, a win in theiir game in hand on Highwood would see them take over the number two spot.
In division one Banbury Club lost 5-4 at home to fourth in the division Trident Spears and as a result have lost pole position and drop to second place behind new leaders RAFA Arrows who won their home game against bottom of the division Station Inn, but only by a very close 5-4 margin, nevertheless the win gives them a two points lead on Banbury Club, Sheldon Marlborough Ridge, Trident Spears and Raven. Sheldon Marlborough Ridge won their home tie with Raven 6-3, Raven dropping from third to fifth in the table while Ridge moved up one place to third. Lyndon Old Boys are just two places off the foot of the table, they chalked up their second win in seven when they won 5-4 at Langley Flights with their Craig Stansfield recording the one and only maximum in the league this week.
A 7-2 home win over Shirley Misfits has seen Langley Pints hold on to the top spot in division two, the win seeing them hold on to their two points lead on second placed Maggies who after their 6-3 win at Dugby have a game in hand on the leaders. The third and fourth teams played each other with home side, Hollywood Social Club beating CBMC-A 6-3 to see the two teams swap places in the table, Hollwood moving up to third and CBMC-A dropping to fourth, both teams are on ten points but CBMC-A have played one game more than Hollywood.

After completing the opening five games in the Harborne and District League there are still five teams with a 100% win record. A resounding 9-0 win at next to bottom of the table Windsor Complex keeps Copper Fox ‘R’ top of the table with a six legs of average lead on their local rivals in second place Copper Fox ‘M’ who won their home game with Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club 7-2, the win keeping them two legs of average to the good on third placed Northfield Conservative Club who won their away fixture at the Crown 8-1. A 6-3 win at Weoley Castle WMC puts Smethwick Cricket Club in fourth place, twelve legs of average short of the leaders. Fifth in the league, Thimble Mill have only played four games so far but have won all four, the latest of which was a 5-4 success at Bourneville to keep their undefeated run intact.
At the other end of the table there are five teams still without a win and they are Cock Inn, Bourneville, Stag and Three Horseshoes, Windsor Complex and Lion Bar.

Northfield handed their visitors E57 a 7-0 whitewash in the Kings Norton League to take their unbeaten run to nine games and keep them two points ahead of second placed Greenlands who had a narrow 4-3 win playing away against middle of the table Longbridge. Third in the table Bourneville had a 6-1 home win over Cock Inn leaving them four points off the top and two short of second placed Greenlands but with a game in hand on both of the teams above them. Bottom of the table Cavalier have played ten games and are the only team in the league without a win so far.
Northfield’s N.Steventon was in tremendous form this week, hitting not one, not two but THREE maximums while G.Edwards and M.Poolton of the Dingle both hit one.

It was cup week in the South West Birmingham Clubs League, round one of the Percy Hinton Cup. The biggest shock of the round was the defeat of division one leaders Northfield Conservative Club ‘B’ who are undefeated in the league but lost 5-4 playing away against Bournbrook who are fourth in division one. The biggest win of the round went to division one’s Perfection who won 8-1 at Longbridge Supremes who are bottom of division two. There were 7-2 wins for both Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club and E57 who in turn accounted for their respective opponents Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’ and Longbridge Arrows. A 160 break for A.Cullen helped his team Stirchley United, to a 6-3 win at West Heath CEM while Northfield Darts Club and Kings Norton Arrows in turn won 5-4 against Bartley Green FC and Cue Club. Quarry Lane Club had a bye.

After the top three come Whiteheath Tavern and Club ‘99’, both on twelve points and two fewer than the teams above them, Whiteheath having a convincing 8-1 home win over Mill, Club ‘99’ with a maximum from Joe Davidson going one better winning 9-0 at home against Double Tops Micro Bar. Leaders of the Silver End Sunday Morning League, Old Star, suffered a bit of a setback this week when in their home tie with Roebuck, who are just three places off the foot of the table, they were held to a 4-4 draw. Despite the somewhat surprising result Old Star remain top of the table and still have a six points lead over their nearest rivals Dudley Sports ‘A’ who managed to reduce the arrears slightly with their 7-1 win at Ten Arches. A 6-1 win against New Gate Inn sees Junction ‘B’ make it nineteen wins in as many games in the singles league of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League and gives them a four points lead on second placed Dog and Partridge ‘B’ who in the local derby with their ‘A’ side won 5-2.
In the doubles league Golden Lion ‘A’ went down 2-1 at Junction ‘A’ but still top the table with thirty points, two more than the chasing pack of four teams, Junction ‘B’, Dog and Partridge ‘B’, Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’ and New Gate Inn.
