Kirsi Viinikainen, Priscilla Steenbergen, Lisa Ashton, Fallon Sherrock and Gemma Hayter all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the MODUS Super Series Women’s Week, to join Rhian O’Sullivan, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Viinikainen, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning three of her five matches, as she recorded victories against Vicky Pruim, Robyn Byrne and Lorraine Hyde, with her two defeats coming against Sophie McKinlay and Priscilla Steenbergen, to end on 12 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Priscilla Steenbergen also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, whilst three players in Vicky Pruim, Sophie McKinlay and Lorraine Hyde finished 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on 10 points each, with Robyn Byrne finishing bottom on 6 points.
In Group B, Lisa Ashton topped the group overall after winning three of her four matches on Friday Evening, as she recorded victories against Gemma Hayter, Lorraine Winstanley and Laura Turner, with her only defeat coming against Fallon Sherrock, to end on 14 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Fallon Sherrock and Gemma Hayter also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Sherrock ending on 12 points and Hayter on 6 points, edging out Lorraine Winstanley, who also ended on 6 points, but missed out in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Laura Turner finished bottom on 2 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Women’s Week Five with the six players battling it out for the top prize.
