The Heartlands Sugardarts M&E Co Double Top League have got their new season underway with a total of thirty-four players. Steve Cain tops the table after week one but his four points come from two games and everyone else has played just the one. Seven other players began the campaign with straight 3-0 wins and they are Claive Austin, Ryan Barritt, Matt Richmond, Adam Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Ramone Stevens and John Yates. One newcomer to the league is thirteen years old Sophie Cain who in her first ever game she had a top score of 121 and beat Dylan Bloomer 2-1, who knows, a star for the future?

No change in the top three places in the Harborne and District League with Copper Fox ‘R’ holding on to pole position with an 8-1 win away to Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club giving them a total of eighteen points and opening up a twenty legs of average lead on second placed Northfield Conservative Club who a 5-4 win at Copper Fox ‘M’ to put them on the same eighteen points as the leaders. As a result of the defeat Copper Fox ‘M drop one place to fifth in the table and are now six points off the top of the table. Northfield Darts Club take over at number four following their 8-1 home win over next to bottom of the table Windsor Complex who are one of two teams still seeking a win, the other team being bottom placed Lion Bar.

There were just the two maximums in the league this week and they came from A.Hykin and T.Hamilton both playing for Copper Fox ‘R’.

It was catch-up week in the Kings Norton League this week with six teams playing three rearranged fixtures. None of the results had any real bearing on the league table as Bourneville beat Dingle 6-1 with both G.Edwards and M.Mooney recording 160 breaks for the losers. Cock Inn chalked up a 5-2 win at E57 and Bournebrook, with maximums from M.Henson and K.Webb beat Perfection 6-1.

Week ten in the Sheldon and District Winter League and the results produced no changes in the premier league table whatsoever. Sheldon Marlborough Arrows had their game at Smithswood Social Club postponed but despite that they remain top of the table with fourteen points and a superior average over second placed Highwood who are on the same fourteen points after winning 7-2 at Brian’s Flights. Third placed Langley Arrows, like leaders Sheldon Marlborough Arrows, have only played seven games, their 7-2 win at fourth placed RAFA putting them on twelve points, two short of Highwood but with a game in hand.

In division one Banbury Arrows had an 8-1 win at Moseley Rugby Club to stay top of the table with sixteen points from ten games and with a two points lead on both Trident Spears and RAFA Arrows but from playing one more game than the majority of the division. Trident Spears won their game at Sheldon Marlborough Ridge 6-3 to keep them just ahead of third placed RAFA Arrows who are on the same fourteen points as Trident Spears after their 6-3 win at Langley Flights. Fourth and fifth placed Sheldon Marlborough Ridge and Raven are both on twelve points and both have a game in hand on the leaders.

Langley Pints stay top of division two, their 7-2 home win over Castle Bromwich Spitfires taking their points tally to fourteen with an average lead on second placed CBMC-A plus they have a game in hand. CBMC-Awon 6-3 at home over Hunters Moon, the win keeping them two points to the good on third placed Hollywood Social Club who in the home game with Digby handed their opponents a 9-0 whitewash. Fourth and fifth placed Shirley Misfits and Maggies are both on ten points, the Misfits have a game in hand on the two teams above them while Maggies have two games in hand on the second and third placed teams.

Division one leaders in the South West Birmingham Clubs League, Northfield Darts Club, were held to a somewhat surprising 4-4 draw away to fourth in the division Perfection but nevertheless remain top of the division with eight points, two more than second placed Northfield Conservative Club ‘B’ who lost their home tie with Stirchley United 7-1, but the Conservative Club still have a game in hand on the leaders. Third placed Stirchley United have two games in hand on the leaders and one on their hosts and are three points behind the Darts Club and only one short of the Conservative Club.

The top two teams in division two played each other and the home team, West Heath CEM moved up from second to top after beating Kings Norton Arrows 6-2 to see the losers knocked off the top and drop to second, their seven points, one point short of the new leaders. Third placed E57 had an 8-0 home win over Longbridge Arrows to give them seven points with a game in hand on both teams above them.

Match ten in the Sutton and District League saw no change in the top seven places in division one, Highcroft Hotdogs continue to lead the field with twenty points after adding their latest 7-2 win at Erdington Arrows. Second placed Nomads @ Hollyfields lost their home game with third placed Bishop Vesey 5-4 and are now four points behind the leaders and only two better off than Bishop Vesey.

In division two, Rise Club had an 8-1 home win over St Thomas Arrows to keep them top of the table with twenty points, two more than second placed Plough and Arrows who had a close 5-4 home win over Sutton Sports. Hollyfields are third, their 6-3 win at Sutton Sharks keeping them only two points adrift of Plough and Arrows and four short of the leaders.

Only one maximum scored in the league this week and that was suppied by Pint Pot Flights player Michael Bagnall, however there were two 160 breaks which were recorded by Lee Arnold *Bishop Vesey) and Barry Stephens (Old Horns Lions).

The Rowley Monday Night League staged the finals of their Masters competition which was made up of two Gate Hangs Well and two Bell Players. Making their exits in the semis were B.Gillies (Bell) and A.Wallace (Gate Hangs Well) while the final saw T.Brennan (Bell) defeat D.Homer (Gate Hangs Well).

On the night there was a maximum from B.Gillies 180 (Bell), a 160 break from J.Tart (Tividale FC), a maximum 170 finish from D.Homer (Gate Hangs Well) plus a seven darts gane from T.Brennan (Bell).

The Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League have got their new season underway and as early as only the second week and just three of the starting line-up of sixteen teams are able to boast a 100% win record. The top spot is shared by Sow and Pigs and Three Horseshoes who both have four points and the same average. Sow and Pigs have had 5-2 win at Ivy Bush and a 4-3 home win over Sandwell while Three Horseshoes beat Waggon and Horses ‘A’ 5-2 and then won 4-3 at home over Vine ‘A’. Third placed Waggon and Horses ‘B’ have the same four points as the two leaders but trail by one leg of average after they won the opening two games 4-3 at Cottage Spring and 4-3 at home over Hot Shots.

Eighteen games played in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League and only four points separate the top four teams. Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ top the table with thirty-two points with second and third placed Raven and Lamp Tavern both on thirty points. Fourth in the league Bridge are on twenty-eight points but they have two games in hand on all three teams above them and wins in those games would see them go level on points with the leaders.

Leaders of the Black Country Men’s Super League, Allen’s Bar ‘A’ suffered a 4-1 defeat in their local derby game with their ‘B’ side, however their 100 points is good enough to keep them top of the table with a ten points lead over second placed Quarry Bank Liberal Club who have taken over the second spot after they won 3-2 at home over Ten Arches and formerly in second place, Dudley Ex Serviceman’ s Club didn’t play and now have games in hand on the two teams above them.

After completing twenty-one fixtures in the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League, Junction ‘B’ top the singles league table with forty-two points and have a four points lead on their nearest rivals Dog and Partridge ‘B’ in second place. Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ are third a further two points off the top.

Golden Lion ‘B’ are top of the doubles league, their thirty-four points are two to the good on both second and third placed Junction ‘B’ and New Gate Inn.
