It was cup week in the Sheldon and District Winter League, round one of their Sheldon Shield, with the biggest win of the round going to division one side Yardley Ex Colts who won 6-1 playing away against Castle Bromwich Spitfires from division two. There were 5-2 wins for Lyndon Old Boys and Banbury Club (division one), Langley Pints (division two) and RAFA (premier league) who in turn accounted for Moseley Rugby Club and Station Inn (division one), Raven Flights (division two) and Raven (division one). Also making it through to the next round were CBMC-A (division two), Sheldon Marlborough Arrows (premier league) and Hollywood Social Club (division two) who had respective 4-3 wins over Brian’s Flights (premier league), Digby (division two) and RAFA Arrows (division one).
In addition to the cup fixtures there were two rearranged league fixtures played. In the premier league, despite Alan Mayell notching a maximum, his team Dog Inn Nomads lost their home tie with second placed Langley Arrows 7-2. The division two fixture between Shirley Misfits and Trident Flights saw the former win 6-3 to lift them one place in the table to fourth while their opponents remain rooted at the foot of the division without a single point from their thirteen games so far.

With no results for the top two teams, Copper Fox ‘R’ and Northfield Conservative Club, in the Harborne and District League, the former holds on to pole position with a perfect score of twenty-four points from twelve games while the latter, who are on twenty-two points from the same twelve games drop to third place behind Northfield Darts Club whose 8-1 win at Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club has lifted them up one place to second as they have a more superior average than Northfield Conservative Club. Fourth in the league Smethwick Cricket Club are also on twenty-two points after they won their home game with Harborne Social 6-3. After the top four there is a gap of four points to fifth in the league Copper Fox ‘M whose latest fixture saw them win 7-2 at Stag and three Horseshoes.

The South West Birmingham Clubs League played off the finals of their Divisional Cups, the division one final producing something of a shock result as next to bottom of the division, Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club had a narrow 5-4 win against divisional leaders Northfield Darts Club, the game going to a last leg decider. The division two, title went to West Heath CEM who beat Cue Club 6-3.
There was one rearranged division two league fixture played in which leaders E57 were held to a 4-4 draw playing away against Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’ who are four places below them in the table and have three fewer points.

Leader of the Heartlands Sugardarts M&E Co Double Top League, Ryan Cain began weeksix with a 3-0 win over Sue John, but then for the first time in eleven games he lost, going down 2-1 to Matthew Hoare, however he holds on to pole position with twenty-seven points, one more than second placed Steve Cain who replaces Clive Austin in the number two spot after he won 3-0 against Andrew Richmond and 2-1 against Brian Meer, Steve Cain having played one game less than Ryan Cain. Austin lost 2-1 to Jordan Rogers, who scored a maxumim, and then won by the same 2-1 scoreline against Charlie Rogers to leave him third in the table with twenty-five points, just two fewer than leader Ryan Cain.
Jordan Rogers not only hit a maximum against Clive Austin but also hit one against Matthew Hoare in his 3-0 win. Matthew Cain also scored a 180 in his 3-0 win over Emma Cain.

Week two in the Rowley Monday Night League and the toptwoplaces in division one remain as-you-were with Bell leading the way with a 5-4 home win over Whiteheath Tavern giving them a one leg of average advantage over Gate Hangs Well who beat Snooks 6-3, to see Snooks drop from third to sixth in the diviaion. FULLWELL’S DOUBLE DARTS WHITEWASH

Nick Fullwell held on to the number one spot in the Amblecote RBL Premier League in the best possible way by handing out 7-0 whitewashes to both Kian Rogers and Chris Pickett to put him on eighty-six points from twelve games with a lead of seven points over second and third placed Jason Lowe and Spike Green. Jason Lowe began with a similar 7-0 win over Chris Cox but then won 5-2 against fifth in the league Gavin Smith and although seven points behind Fullwell has one game in hand. Newcomer to the league Spike Green had 6-1 wins over both Sam Page and Robbie Hipkiss.

Simon Pritchard added a 5-3 win over Jimmy Handley in division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League, to take his tally to sixty-four points from eight games and gives him a seventeen points lead over second in the division Simon Mountford who was held to a 4-4 draw by Michael Smith. Third in the division Chris Manoila is a further four points adrift with forty-three points but both he and Mountford have two games in hand on Pritchard.
In division two Neville Quinton continue to lead the way, a 6-2 win over Wayne Barratt taking his points to forty-six with a four point’s advantage over second in the division, Michele Pritchard who has moved three places up the table after winning 6-2 against Jono Handley.
