PDC Women’s Series darts rolled into Wigan this weekend, with Robin Park playing host to the second instalment of the 2026 campaign – and, as ever, it delivered drama, disruption, and the unmistakable presence of excellence at its most unforgiving level.
Arriving in Lancashire, Beau Greaves carried with her an almost untouchable aura. Eighteen consecutive titles. Unbeaten since April of the previous year. A sequence so extraordinary it bordered on the surreal. Halting that momentum was never going to require anything ordinary – it demanded something exceptional. And in the opening event, that is precisely what unfolded.

Fallon Sherrock, the indomitable Queen of the Palace, produced a scintillating performance of the highest calibre, firing in a ton plus average to dismantle Greaves’ extraordinary run with a commanding 4-1 victory in the last 64. In truth, Greaves herself operated at a similarly elevated level, also breaching the three-figure mark, yet even that proved insufficient to preserve what will be remembered as one of the most astonishing streaks in the sport’s history.
With that monumental hurdle cleared, many anticipated Sherrock would surge towards the title. She came agonisingly close. However, standing in her path was the ever-resilient Lisa Ashton, who delivered a composed and clinical display to secure a 5-3 triumph and claim the honours.
For Ashton, it was a journey defined by both endurance and precision. Navigating a densely populated field, the Yorkshire stalwart dispatched a series of high-profile adversaries, including reigning WDF Women’s Champion Deta Hedman, alongside Lorraine Hyde and Gemma Hayter, before ultimately lifting the title with characteristic authority.
The second event on Saturday saw a familiar narrative reassert itself. Greaves responded emphatically. Any lingering disappointment from her earlier defeat was swiftly extinguished as she stormed back into the winner’s enclosure with ruthless efficiency. The Doncaster prodigy was in imperious form, whitewashing Gemma Hayter in the final and conceding a mere six legs across the entirety of her campaign.

Her route to the title was marked by assured victories, including a comfortable quarter final success over Eleanor Cairns, followed by a commanding semi-final performance against Robyn Byrne. The final itself was a demonstration of technical brilliance, with the 22-year old producing a mesmeric ton plus display to secure her fifth title in just six events of the season.
By Sunday afternoon, normality had been emphatically restored. Greaves completed a dominant weekend hat trick, reaffirming her position at the summit of the women’s game. The most satisfying of those victories arguably came earlier in the day, as she edged past Sherrock in a gripping last leg decider that radiated quality and intensity. Prior to that encounter, she had scarcely dropped a leg, underlining her relentless consistency.

She concluded the weekend in devastating fashion, sweeping aside Rhian O’Sullivan in the final with an exhibition of complete control. Across that event, only Deta Hedman managed to claim more than a single leg against her – a testament to the sheer authority Greaves exerted over the field.
A notable mention must also be reserved for Gemma Hayter, whose consistency across all four tournaments was deeply impressive. While a title narrowly eluded her grasp, she featured prominently throughout, recording a quarter final appearance, two semi-finals, and a runners up finish – a collection of results that reflects both resilience and upward trajectory.
Yet, as has so often been the case, the weekend ultimately revolved around one name. Beau Greaves. Aside from a solitary defeat – inflicted by a magnificent Sherrock performance – she remained an irresistible force, reasserting her dominance with emphatic clarity and leaving Wigan as the undisputed focal point of the Women’s Series once more.
