The Land of the Rising Sun, Japan, played host to the second instalment of the 2026 Asian Tour weekend, with the picturesque city of Shizuoka assuming centre stage.
Steeped in a rich and almost mythological heritage, the venue took the baton from Dubai as the Far East’s finest arrived en masse for the next quartet of events on the calendar.
Following an enthralling and relentlessly action-laden curtain-raiser, it was Hong Kong’s Lok Yin Lee who emerged as the ultimate protagonist, claiming Saturday’s opening double-header with victory over a familiar adversary in Paolo Nebrida.
Lee’s route to glory was anything but straightforward, navigating past a trio of Japanese competitors before ultimately dispatching the experienced Filipino flinger 5-3 in a composed and authoritative final display. It proved to be an exceptionally productive and impressively consistent weekend for Lok Yin Lee.
While he was unable to augment his Shizuoka title tally further, the Hong Kong thrower nonetheless demonstrated remarkable tenacity, reaching the final in each of the subsequent two events and firmly establishing himself as the standout performer across the weekend.
The second tournament on Saturday saw a home nation arrow-smith rise to prominence, as Tomoya Goto edged Lee in a nerve-shredding last-leg decider to secure his maiden tour triumph of the year. It was a victory forged in composure and resilience, much to the delight of the local contingent.
Onto Sunday, and it was something of a déjà vu scenario for Lee. Once again, he navigated his way to the final, only to find himself agonisingly halted at the final hurdle in another high-stakes shootout. This time, it was his more illustrious compatriot, Hugo Leung Man Lok, who prevailed in dramatic fashion, replicating his earlier success in Dubai by claiming the third event of the weekend.
Bringing the curtain down on proceedings in Japan, Ganzorig Lkhagvasüren ensured Mongolia would also be represented among the quartet of victors, producing a commanding and clinical performance to whitewash Ryuta Arihara on home soil.
Next up – Kuala Lumpur at the beginning of May for events 9-12.
