Whether Cups, Knockouts or catch up league fixtures it was a full spectrum of league darts across the West Midlands last week.
On the fixture card for the Sutton and District League was their doubles knockout which was staged at four venues with the last two pairs going through to finals night on the 1st September.

Highwood suffered a setback to their premier league title hopes in the Sheldon and District Winter League when in game fifteen they lost 7-2 playing away against third in the division Sheldon Marlborough Arrows. Despite the defeat, Highwood hang on to pole position with twenty-four points from fifteen games but can now be caught by their hosts who are on twenty points but with three hames in hand and also second placed Langley Arrows who had a convincing 8-1 home win over bottom placed Smithswood Social Club, to keep them in contention for the title as they trail the leaders by just two points but have two games in hand on them.
Banbury Club continue to head the division one table, their latest fixture seeing them win 8-1 at Trident Spears to keep them top on average as their nearest rivals RAFA Arrows won 5-4 at Station Inn to put them on the same twenty-four points as Banbury but from one game fewer. Third placed Sheldon Marlborough Ridge also have a game in hand on Banbury, however their 5-4 win at Raven leaves them four points off the top.
Langley Pints moved another step nearer to the division two title when they added their most recent 7-2 win at Shirley Misfits to give them a six points breathing space on second and third placed Hollywood Social Club and Maggies. Hollywood won 8-1 at CBMC-A but they have now played one game more than Pints while Maggies have a game in hand on Pints and two on Hollywood after they won their home tie with Digby 8-1.

The Kings Norton League had the quarrter-finals of their League Cup on the agenda, current league leaders Northfield recording the round’s biggest win as they accounted for Bourneville with a 6-1 result. The other three games all ended with a narrow 4-3 scoreline with wins for Greenlands, Stirchley and Longbridge who in turn defeated Kings Norton Flights, Bournebrook and Dingle.

It was the semi-finals of the Percy Hinton Trophy on the fixture card for the South West Birmingham Clubs League, division one leaders Northfield Darts Club beating fourth in the same division Bournbrook 6-3 while fellow division one side Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club had a closer 5-4 win over division two leaders E57. There was just the one maximum which came from Northfield Darts Club’s A.Sutton.
There was just one rearranged division two fixture played in which Longbridge Arrows won 5-4 against Cue Club to see the winners move up one place to sixth and the losers drop one place to seventh.

The Stourbridge and District Monday Night League staged the preliminary round of their League Cup, all five results going in-keeping with league form. The biggest win of 6-1 went to Bull and Bladder and Gornal British Legion who in turn took out Glasscutters ‘B’ and Mount Pleasant. Swan and Netherton Conservative Club ‘A’ had 5-2 win against respective opponents Queens Head (Stourbridge) and High Acres while Raven progressed to the next round with a close 4-3 win over Gate Hangs Well.

After the majority of teams in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League have completed twenty-five games the top two teams are both on forty-four points. Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ top the table on average, their latest 6-3 win at Roebuck ‘A’ keeping them in pole position with Bridge second. Bridge had a 7-2 win at home against bottom of the table Tipton Sports and Social Club and although trailing the leaders on average they are on the same number of points with a game in hand. Third placed Lamp Tavern won 7-2 at Dudley Sports ‘A’ to leave them two points off the top and two to the good on fourth placed Raven after they recored a close 5-4 win at Little Barrel.

The fixtures for the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League produced a top of the table clash this week as leaders Chop House travelled to take on second placed New Inns. The result was a narrow 4-3 win for Chop House to almost guarantee them the title as they are now six points ahead of their nearest rivals Hollybush who have taken over from New Inns in second place with fifty points following their 6-1 home win over Stourbridge FC ‘B’, New Inns have dropped to third place with forty-eight points.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ stretched their undefeated run in the Netherton Thursday Night 501 League to ten games in true style when they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors Rose and Crown to keep them six points ahead of both Old Liberal Club and British Oak who have both only played eight games and won eight games.
Only two players scored a maximum this week, Mark Allen (Haden Cross) and Abdul Galeb (Townsend Social Club).

It was round one of the League Cup for the Rowley Monday Night League with the biggest win of the round going to Bostin Darts ‘A’ who handed their opponents Star valley a 9-0 whitewash, Romsley Cricket Club not far behind with their 8-1 success over Coombs Wood. The Amblecote RBL Premier League are up to week seven and leading the field with 131 points is Ian Townsend who has played twenty fixtures, the latest of which seeing him win 6-1 against Trevor Cunningham and 7-0 against Jayden Harper. Jason Lowe remains second with 130 points, only one short of Townsend with two games in hand after he had similar 7-0 and 6-1 wins against Jon Underhill and Paul Wells.
Nick Fullwell had 4-3 results in his two games, the first seeing him lose to Andy Vellender and the second he won against Ryan Green to see him slip one place in the table to fourth on 166 points from eighteen games. Spike Green takes over the number three spot, his 7-0 win over Jayden Harper followed by a 6-1 win against Mark Hopkins taking his points tally from twenty games to 123. Andy Vellender moved six places up the table to sixth, adding a 6-1 win over Kian Rogers and a 5-2 win against Ryan Hardman to his previous win over Nick Fullwell to give him ninety-six points from eighteen games.

No change in the top four places of the singles league in the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League after leaders Junction ‘B’ won 7-0 at Woodfield and although Dog and Partridge ‘B’ lost their home tie with Ashmore 5-2, they hold on to second place with fifty points, four more than third in the league Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ after they won 4-3 at home against Junction ‘A’.
A 2-1 defeat at Woodfield has seen Junction ‘B’ lose pole position in the doubles league and drop to fourth with Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ replacing them at the top of the table on forty-four points after they won their home tie with Junction ‘A’ 2-1. Second and third placed Golden Lion ‘A’ and New Gate Inn are also on the same forty-four points as the leaders, Golden Lion ‘A’ beating their ‘B’ side 2-1 while New Gate Inn had a similar 2-1 win at Junction ‘C’.
