DEFENDING champion Scott Taylor took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, with Week Four of Series Seven commencing at the Modus Super Series.
Taylor, who was crowned the Champion of Series Six last month, made his return by taking the early lead in Group A, with the Bolton player winning four matches from five. Only Luke Littler , during the summer of 2023, has successfully retained the MSS Champions title.
The 32-year-old chalked up victories against Adam Lipscombe, Nigel Lloyd, Jimmy Hendriks and Neil Duff, with his only defeat coming against Antony Allen, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.
Elsewhere, Coventry’s Antony Allen, who recently claimed his first WDF ranking tournament, ended the day in 2nd on 6 points, whilst the remaining four players sit on 4 points each, with Nigel Lloyd sitting in 3rd due to having a higher leg difference over his three competitors in Hendriks, Lipscombe and Duff.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Taylor leading the way thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
