London Pride: April 2021

Red Dragon Darts

Following on from the recent release by UKDA of the Darts Corner National League Divisional structure for the eagerly anticipated new season, the fixtures have now been made public. With London competing in the top tier for the first time since the 2004/05 season, they will be undoubtedly looking forward to the fixtures with great relish and excitement as they pit their wits against the best National League sides around.

The Elite Premiership campaign begins on the weekend of 18/19 September with a trip to the South Coast as they square off against Hampshire. They then open their home campaign on 2/3 October with Devon the visitors.  Three more fixtures will take place before the end of the calendar year. A trip to Lincolnshire on 6/7 November starts a busy period of action. Yorkshire visit the capital on 27/28 November, before London hit the road once more to take on Warwickshire (11/12 December).

The New Year begins with Cheshire heading down the M6 (8/9 January). Next up will be the long trip to Cornwall (5/6 February). Two home fixtures come next – local rivals Essex on 26/27 February followed by Glamorgan on 26/27 March.

The Magic Weekend on 23rd and 24th April sees what could prove to be a dramatic conclusion of the season with each side playing two games in a packed weekend of action across both the Premiership and Championship. Day One sees London battle Northamptonshire before rounding the season off against Lancashire. The venue for the Magic Weekend is still to be revealed but will hopefully be announced soon.

. The cost of admission to the home games and all other relevant information will be published once they are known.

UKDA have recently released details of a very welcome initiative that will benefit all National League teams, specifically with regard to away travel that will reduce the costs involved. It has been achieved by the publication of a list of “partner hotels” with one listed for each National League team – which allows for rooms to be booked at a discounted rate for a limited time period. A lot of work has gone into this project and Claire Stamper has to be thanked and commended for her efforts in securing the best deals across the UK.
