Van Gerwen Leads Dutch Contingent Into Finals Day

Diamond Draws Competitions

Michael van Gerwen progressed into round three at the Slovak Darts Open after the Dutchman survived a scare against Krzysztof Ratajski, missing six match darts before prevailing against Poland’s number one in Bratislava.

Overall it was a strong day for the Dutch who will have five players representing the Netherlands on tomorrow’s final day.

Danny Noppert and Jermaine Wattimena will lock horns in Sunday’s afternoon session, following comfortable wins over Madars Razma and Dave Chisnall respectively.

Day Two had seen the seeded stars kick off their campaigns at the Incheba Expo, as top seed Gian van Veen fell short in his contest against Rob Cross to suffer another round two exit this year.

Cross, who picked up a Players Championship title during the week in Wigan, maintained his resurgent form with a 6-3 victory against the world number three.

The former World Champion will take on Dutch star Kevin Doets in the opening game of Sunday’s action, after Doets raced through his round two contest, beating Australian number one Damon Heta 6-2.

The final day at the Incheba Expo will get underway from 1300 local time (1200 BST), as the last 16 players will battle it out for a spot in the final session of the Slovak Darts Open.

Live coverage will be streamed on DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with additional coverage available on CANAL+ SPORT 5 and via the CANAL+ streaming service in Poland.

Coverage will also be broadcast on PDCTV (excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and through bookmakers worldwide.
