The 2022 PDC Qualifying School takes place this weekend from Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th of January. Q-School will see a host of well-known veterans, as well as up-and-coming players looking to claim one of the PDC’s coveted Tour Cards and a place on the prestigious PDC Pro Tour.

The PDC has announced that this year’s event will follow the same two-stage format that began last year, with over 650 players competing for 32 Tour Cards. A total of 32 players are exempt to Final Stage in the UK and 19 players are exempt to the Final Stage in Europe, based on the players who lost their Tour Card at the end of 2021 and the top eight players from each of the respective 2021 UK and European Challenge and Development Tour Orders of Merit.

Here is a run-down on how this year’s system works so you can keep on top of all the action.

Breaking it down:

PDC Global Q-School 2022 will take place in 2 locations – Milton Keynes, UK and Niedernhausen, Germany with both having a First Phase and Final Phase.

A total 684 players fighting for the 32 Tour Card places on offer.

In the UK, 337 players in Phase 1 will compete for 1 of 96 spaces to join the 32 pre-qualified Final Phase players.

In Europe, the First Phase will be split into Phase 1A (158 players) + Phase 1B (157 players), due to Covid restrictions in Germany. 109 players will go through to meet the 19 pre-qualified Final Phase players, making up the 128 required for Phase 2.

At the end of each day of the First Phase, the last remaining 8 players in each location will progress to the Second Phase, with the rest being made up by an Order of Merit.

Final Phases in both locations take place with 128 players from the 12th to the 15th of January.

UK Q-School caters for all players from the United Kingdom, Ireland and British Overseas Territory (including Gibraltar)

European Q-School is for players from the Rest of Europe. Players from outside Europe can choose whether to join the UK Q-School or European Q-School.

Good luck to all competing!
