Josh Payne took the early lead on Tuesday in ending Day 1 of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, as the Online Darts Live League returned with the new season commencing and the start of Phase 1.
Payne, who recently lost his PDC Tour Card, made it an excellent debut at the Online Darts Live League, as he ended the day top, by recording victories over Alan Tabern, Scott Walters, Scott Marsh and Kai Fan Leung, with his only defeat coming against James Richardson, who also ended the day with four wins from five, but finished behind Payne on leg difference.
Elsewhere, Scott Marsh and Debutant Kai Fan Leung ended the day in 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, Scott Walters in 5th on 2 points, but it was disappointing debut for Alan Tabern, who failed to register a victory with five defeats from five and a leg difference of –9.
Online Darts Live League continues on Wednesday with the six players returning on the final day of Group A, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Payne leading the way thus far.
Players who finish in places 2-6 will be split into two groups in Thursday and Friday’s play with Afternoon and Evening sessions taking place on both days, as well as new players entering the fray.
Play will begin at 9:30 GMT on Wednesday and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
