No Extra for McEwan as Burton Claims Weekly League

Red Dragon Darts

Stephen Burton was victorious on Saturday, in winning Week 1 of Phase 3 at the Online Darts Live League, to secure his place in Champions Week, after defeating Jim McEwan in the final, with Scott Williams winning the 3rd place playoff.

Burton, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Jim McEwan and Lee Evans to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Johnny Haines, with Burton whitewashing Haines 4-0 to book his spot in the final and a place at Champions Week, no matter the outcome of the decider.

In the decider, Burton took on Jim McEwan for the second time on the night, and once again the Former Tour Card Holder was victorious, in coming out a 4-2 victor to take the Week 1 crown of Phase 3 at the Online Darts Live League.

Elsewhere, beaten Semi Finalists Scott Williams and Johnny Haines competed in a 3rd place playoff to see who would join Burton and McEwan in Champions Week, and it was Williams who was victorious, in coming out as a 4-2 victor.

Online Darts Live League returns on Tuesday with Week 2 commencing with the first of two days of Group A, with the field to be confirmed in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
