ADC Rankings: Matt Jackson the Early Leader with Wood and Atkinson Chasing

The ADC Tour Championship started last week with 256 tour points available to the overall winner. Matt Jackson number one in the rankings did not take part resulting in Adam Atkinson closing the gap on the number one to just 54 points with many events to come including the next tour championship scheduled to take place in July.

Bristol is the destination for events three and four but there are still many more events between now and July including the Tommy and Dodds Memorial that Tony Wood the number three on the tour is registered for. The Southwest Open 2 also takes place this weekend and Matt Jackson the league leader will be amongst the players battling it out for the £500 plus winner’s prize in Bristol.

Scott Marsh who played at Lakeside in April won the Riley’s event in Chorlton over the weekend and earned himself his first 64 points of the tour so far, beating David Evans 5-1 in the Final and including a 100 checkout to seal the title.

Fifth in the rankings Lee Budgen played in the Streamline Taxis York Open at the weekend to add another eight points to his tour score, putting him up to 284 points but still a long way off rankings leader Matt Jackson. His run was ended in the Quarter Finals by Shaun Rutter 3-2 who went on to finish as the tournament Runner Up with Chris Quantock winning the Final 5-3.

Quantock left York with the 64 points for the Winner, and Runner Up Shaun Rutter who is fourteenth in the Rankings managed a further 32 points across the weekend, putting him just 7 points behind Gary Hayes in the thirteenth and two points clear of Dave Prins, The Badger who lost a close battle with Michael Warburton at Lakeside last month.

In terms of the current rankings within the ADC, Matt Jackson is top with 518 points followed by ADC Tour Championship 1 winner Adam Atkinson in second with 464 points. Tony Wood is third with 325 points and Graham Hall in fourth sits just five points behind Wood on 320.

Winmau Team 360 chairman Steve Brown is tenth and Graham Usher who recently played the Online Darts Live League sits in 12th, level with Gary Hayes but ahead in the rankings with a higher legs difference of plus 66 and a higher average currently at 84.32.

There are many events remaining within the year and with 256 points on offer at each of the Tour Championships with events, three and four in Bristol and events five and six taking part in Manchester on the 6th and 7th of August, as the race to become the ADC leader will begin to heat up.
