Keane Barry was victorious on Sunday, in winning his 3rd PDC Winmau Development Tour title of the year, after defeating Owen Bates in the decider, as the third weekend of the PDC’s Youth Tour season came to a close in Hildesheim.
Barry, who was victorious at Friday’s Event 12 and Runner Up in Saturday’s Event 14, went all the way once more, as he came through a number of scrappy ties to get to the final on Sunday, in recording victories over Joshua Richardson, Jake Neale, Nico Lopau, Kevin Doets, Sebastian Bialecki, Lewy Williams and Cam Crabtree, to set up a clash with Owen Bates.
The final began with Barry racing into a 2-0 lead, with winning legs in 14 and 15 darts respectively, before Bates won 2 legs of his own to level up the tie at 2-2. Barry then won back-to-back legs once more to move within one of victory, with Bates needing to win three on the spin to keep his maiden title hopes alive. Bates pull up a leg back with a 14 darter, before Barry sealed the victory in leg eight with a 13 darter to take the title, his 3rd of 2022 and move top of the Order of Merit.
