The latest innovation from the ADC, The World Darts Open, is to be held in December of this year. Any player can enter as long as you don’t hold a PDC Tour Card and, unusually, it’s not simply a knockout competition.
With a total prize fund of £40,000, The Winmau World Darts Open will be one of the biggest events with an option to simply pay and play. The Men’s first prize will be £10,000 and the Ladies’ will compete for the first prize of £3,000.
Both the Men’s and Ladies’ events will have a round-robin stage for the non-seeds which will assure them of at least 3 matches to try to reach the last 64 or 16 for ladies.
The first stage will be capped at 256 (Men) and 64 (Women) these will be played down to a last 32 and last 8. The field will also have 32 and 8 seeds respectively. These will be made up of International qualifiers and ADC ranking tables qualifiers.
The event will be held at the Pakefield Holiday Village in Suffolk over a three-day weekend between Thursday 1st December – Monday 5th December 2022.
If you don’t make it through to the later rounds don’t put down your arrows and check out the other tungsten activities on a packed weekend at Pontin’s Pakefield.
The JDC is holding its Inter-Academy Championships over the same weekend and venue. and there are loads of other activities for all the family within the extensive grounds of the park.
Pakefield has always been a particularly sporty Pontins and even has its own Pitch and Putt course as well as Snooker, Pool, Crazy Golf and all the usual entertainment options. Check out the activities here
The accommodation deals give you free access to these events and much much more.
