Matt Jackson continued as the dominant force in grass roots darts, as he extended his lead at the top of the Amateur Darts Circuit rankings to 175 points.
Competitions once more return this weekend with events such as the Streamline Taxis York Open Event 11 which Terriers Title holder Adam Warner is registered for, as well as the South Gosforth Club July Knockout where Kevin McDine will return after a 12 day absence.
The Action has really excelled in these last four days picking up a total of 128 points, finding victories the Royal Oak, Wallasey July GSoD, the Grand Prix Event 2 and the Bar501 Kingswood Round Robin most recently, a competition he is very familiar of winning.
The competition in Bristol included Winmau Championship Tour 3 Winner Steve Brown who is also a familiar face in Bar501, but it was to be the number one who walked away with the 32 ranking points, beating Robbie Long 4-1 in the Final and impressing with a 14-dart opening hold of throw.
The 38-year-old will be extremely happy with his victory at the Highbridge Social Club on Wednesday, taking home another 64 ranking points after a 4-1 victory against David Williams in the Final. A 12-dart break of throw in leg four, finishing 81 in three and an average just shy of ninety really shows why Jackson is the dominant force in the ADC, with more competitions too come over the weekend.
Tony Wood is up to third in the rankings, with a run to the Final at the Consett Station Club where he won his first tournament of the year in June. The Gateshead thrower fell short in the Final, losing 4-3 to Raymond Marshall who is now 24 points off the top 20 in the Rankings.
Scott Hunt a leading figure in the devrlopment of the ADC also played in the Northeast on Thursday and reached the Semi-Finals, losing to eventual champion Marshall but dropped just five legs in reaching the Final 4 and finding his best average of the day in beating Mark Kidman 4-2.
Kevin McDine returns to action this weekend in Newcastle for the South Gosforth Club July Knockout, sitting in 16th in the rankings ahead of Dan Read, the Championship Tour 4 winner by just three points.
The 37-year-old from Wallsend was once in the top 10 and will hope a good performance this week can boost him up, with the Englishman playing on the Ally Pally stage at a stage in his darting career.
Lee Shewan and Jordan Brooks, the Fleetwood pair that faced off in the First Round of the WDF World Darts Championships at Lakeside will play in the Qs of Blackpool Opening Day of Matchplay GSoD, could the pair meet once more this time in the ADC? The Cobbler came out on top at the home of world darts but lost out to 2020 World Champion and Red Dragon star Wayne Warren.
A strong weekend showing and the opportunity for ranking points arises once more for the amateur players up and down the country, with ranking piuints at stake to contribute to the ADC rankings which you can see via Darts Atlas.
