PDC Winmau Challenge Tour Events 13 & 14

Jurjen Van der Velde and Kenny Neyens were victorious on Saturday, in winning Challenge Tour Events 13 & 14, as the third weekend of the PDC’s second tier tour season continuing in Hildesheim.

Van der Velde, who picked up a Development Tour title earlier in the year, reached the final in Event 13 by recording victories over Chris Hogg, Tonny Veenhof, Sven Van Dun, Kenny Neyens, Simeon Heinz, Dan Read and Stephen Burton, to set up a clash with Robert Owen.

The final began with Owen racing into a 3-0 lead, with winning legs coming in 17,16 and 20 darts respectively, before Van der Velde produced an incredible comeback, with the Dutchman winning five straight legs and sealing victory with a 17 darter to pick up a 1st Challenge Tour crown of his career.

In Event 14, Kenny Neyens was victorious, as he reached the final by recording victories over Jeroen Mioch, Philip Van Gasse, Daniel Vogt, Chas Barstow, Graham Usher and Jelle Klaasen, to set up a clash with Michael Flynn.

The final began with Flynn racing into a 3-0 lead, before Neyens won four on the spin to take the lead for the first time and move within one of victory. Flynn then forced a decider with a 16 darter in Leg 8, before Neyens sealed victory with an 18 darter to pick up a 2nd Challenge Tour title of his career.

The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour weekend concludes on Sunday with Event 15 taking place in Hildesheim as play commences from 10:00 CET, with all live scores and results to be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com
