Undisputed: Ruthless Tops Bristol Bill

If you like your darts live, up close, and personal then you should visit one of the ADC’s multi-match evenings of tungsten tussles. It’s a real mix between the close to the stage and often local atmosphere, with the competitive edge that just doesn’t come from exhibitions:

After a successful first outing in Manchester, the second ADC Undisputed Series is on the horizon as the Warriors Regional Title and the European Title are on the line, with the event starting at 6 pm tomorrow at the Patchway Labour Club in Bristol.

The Botanical Gardens saw the first staging of the year with Adam Warner picking up the Terriers Title against Lloyd Pennell whilst David Davies beat Robert Owen 8-2 for the vacant Welsh Title.

The Bristol edition will feature a European crown, a regional belt and pair of intriguing grudge matches as the players and ticket holders also raise funds for a cystic fibrosis charity.

Main Event

The quality of the Undisputed Series is at least maintained with a mouth-watering main event in store. James Richardson, who appeared at Lakeside back in April and Winmau Championship Tours 3 and 4 where he reached the Semi-Finals, goes up against 2005 World Finalist Kevin Painter, with the ADC European belt and title at stake.

Ruthless included some fantastic performances in Bristol this month including an average of 104.15 in beating ADC Number 6 Graham Hall 4-1 in Championship Tour 4. The Englishman will hope for a similar performance as he returns to the Southwest to face The Artist who has enjoyed a strong year on the Seniors Circuit.

The Artist reached the Semi-Finals of the World Seniors Championship earlier this month where he lost to the eventual winner and now reigning Senior World Matchplay Robert Thornton.

Regional Belt/Title

Ryan Palmer will put his Warriors Title on the line as he prepares to face Mitch Davis in a best of 13 legs tie in Bristol. The belt holder, ranked number 25 in the ADC Rankings, reached the Semi-Finals of Championship Tour 3 beating the likes of Chris Wickenden and Tour 2 Champion Tony Newell with an average just shy of 90.

Palmer has won twice in the ADC this year but would love to defend his title against Davies as The Lion is a former PDC tour card holder. The match is first to seven legs in Bristol and the 34-year-old knows a top performance could get him over the line. He certainly knows he can achieve that level and has proved it over the year with his averages and heavy scoring power.

Davies, a former youth darts protege, is a successful local businessman and will likely bring enthusiastic supporters along to support his bid for a triumphant return to the oche!

Grudge Matches

Steve Brown the Championship Tour 3 Winner is also involved on Friday night, as he prepares to face Mike Norton in the second outing for the new grudge match feature. Both players found victory on that Saturday in Thornbury as the 59-year-old Norton defeated Falcons Title Holder Stu Wilson 3-1 to claim the ranking points for winning the Plate Tournament, as he sits in 31^st in the current rankings.

A huge and very high-quality Grudge Match to look forward to, with the Bomber not winning since his victory against Dan Read at the start of the month, but with a crowd expecting a top-class performance will it be on his mind to treat those in attendance?

The opening grudge match sees Sam Cankett face Justin Hood with the doors set to open at the Patchway Labour Club from 6 pm, as the Second Undisputed Event of the year offers guaranteed entertainment and up close and personal darting drama.
