Colin Osborne bagged a consecutive hattrick of wins producing a remarkable run of 14 consecutive legs, to go from the quarterfinals to claiming the cheque, without reply.
A strong turnout and their biggest event yet ensured that those involved with the regular Courtyard knockout were once more delighted.
Due to a few late dropouts (on the night) a field of 61 players, vying for the £400 winner’s prize money. As well as local players others travelled from Burton, Lincoln, Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester.
Connor Marshall was enthused at the success of the competition, which has attracted famous names including Mark Hylton, Jamie Caven, Damon Heta and Darts World’s Wizard, Colin Osborne.
Ozzy didn’t have it all his own way though, after a 2-0 opening win he was forced to win deciding legs in the next two rounds before that remarkable run of three whitewash wins.
Young Henry Coates was the runner-up. Many tip this young man for greater success and, on this showing, you can see why. Henry lost only 3 legs all night before falling under the Wizards spell in the final
“A fantastic night, especially considering the sweltering conditions, but we received great feedback from everyone, which is always good to hear….”
” thank you to everybody who attended last night, potentially my favourite tournament I’ve ever ran. I want to thank my Pops (Roy Marshall), Nathan Marshall, Sammie Marshall and Jordan Harrison for helping me out all night, as they do at every competition.”
The organizer and promotor added:
“Massive congratulations to the ‘Wizard’, Colin Osborne on winning back-to-back-to-back titles and really stomped his authority on our Friday night competitions. He is the man to beat. One of the best blokes in darts, as well.”
Connor had warm words for the runner-up as well:
“Henry Coates – this lad will be a star in the future and that’s for sure. Brilliant all night but just couldn’t buy a treble in that final. Fantastic to see him reach his first final at our tournaments and hopefully the first of many. Phenomenal.”
Thank you all, see you in October! Potential entrants should message Connor here
There is one more conventional knockout competition before Connor and his team launch their ‘Road to Q-School’. More to come about this event soon…..
