Not content to sit back and bask in former glories, or even try to gain new ones through the World Seniors Tour, Kieth Deller is fronting a darts tournament near his hometown:
Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – is to host a brand-new darts tournament on Saturday 1 October in the company of darts legend Keith Deller and MC and darts referee Russ Bray who is known throughout the darts community as ‘The Voice’ due to his unique style of calling.
The Ipswich-born darts star Keith Deller has been hosting various events at the new Legends Sports Bar – named in honour of a variety of sporting legends – to meet and greet families and people from the Suffolk community and to share some stories from his past and his thoughts on the highs and lows of today’s major sporting events. He and Russ Bray will now bring their celebrity skills to staging this inaugural tournament for players of all ages.
The tournament – starting at 12.00noon – will be staged at the Legends Sports Bar. It will include up to a maximum of 128 players. All games up to and including the semi-finals will be 501 over 7 legs – and the Finals will be 501 over 9 legs. Entry fee is £10.00 per person – with the winner standing to take home a first prize of £750 with runners-up prizes available. The semi-finals and finals will be played on a newly-installed Loxley competition darts stage. Spectators can attend free of charge. There will be a fully licensed Lacons bar available on the evening which is sponsored by hand-produced CBD supplier Heavens Hemp.

Keith, ‘We are looking to encourage some darts teams to play here so people can spectate some top-level darts, but we do also want people just to join in to create a culture of community darts which is why we are launching this first tournament.’

The Legends Sports Bar is part of a new facility for the holiday park and it will also be the setting for some celebrity sports events covering a multitude of sports including darts, football, rugby, cricket, horse racing, and motorsport. Plans are already in place to replicate some Las Vegas-style events as well as family activities too.
