Chris Mason and Richie Howson took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day 1 of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Mark Dudbridge in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Mason, who entered Group C having finished 4th in Group A earlier in the week, completed a clean sweep with five wins from five to take the early lead in the group, as he recorded victories over Barrie Bates, Mark Layton, John Walton, Gary Robson and Alan Norris.
Elsewhere, Mark Layton and Gary Robson ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, Barrie Bates in 4th on 4 points, with Alan Norris and John Walton sitting 5th and 6th on 2 points each.
In Group B, Richie Howson took the early lead, as he completed a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories over Tony O’Shea, Paul Nicholson, Andy Jenkins and Wes Newton.
Elsewhere, Tony O’Shea and Andy Jenkins ended the night 2nd and 3rd respectively on 4 points each, with Paul Nicholson and Wes Newton sitting 4th and 5th on 2 points each.
Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Mark Dudbridge in Saturday’s finale, with Mason and Howson taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 9:30am GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
