After 8 Championship Tours spaced out throughout the year, the top 64 players from the events played will all travel to Reading in search of the Grand Finals title. Among the field is two-time Championship Tour winner Adam Atkinson and the number 1 seed from the Tour table Lee Budgen, the Tour 6 winner from back in August.
The Englishman who is 7th in the ADC Rankings, comes into the Grand Finals on a high having become the first player to top the Championship Tour table in what has been the Amateur Darts Circuit’s debut year.
Budgen who is the number 1 seed for Saturdays Grand Finals, will face Kieran Wynn in the First Round with a matchup against either Tony Wood or Championship Tour 4 winner Dan Read in the Quarter Finals should the players mentioned all progress.
Adam Smith-Neale is the second seed for the tournament having won Tour 5 against Simon Preston, winning in Manchester by a whitewash score line in the Final. Big Dog is in the 3rd Quarter of the draw along with former PDC Tour Card holder Gary Blades and Amateur Award winner Chris Wickenden who has enjoyed a strong first year on the ADC circuit.
The Englishman appeared at the Red Dragon Champion of Champions at the end of August where he reached the Last 32 stage, but the ADC is where ASN finds his best form reaching the Final of Championship Tour 7 as well as the Semi-Finals of Tour 6 where he lost to Adam Warner.
ADC Number 1 Matt Jackson will miss the competition having not performed well enough in the 8 Championship Tours so far this year, but ADC Numbers 2/3 Adam Atkinson and Steve Brown are both drawn in the fourth quarter so if both reach the Quarter Finals, they will face each other in what could be a massive match!
The fourth quarter includes the number four seed Kevin Garcia as the highest-ranked player, but with some decent throwers such as Adam Warner, Falcons holder Stu Wilson and Tour 2 champion Tony Newell, no quarter of a draw on ADC Grand Finals Day will be straight forward.
The Crucible Sports Club will play host to the Final Championship Tour Event of the year and what a draw we have in store for the 64 players who fought hard to be in Berkshire. With money and ranking points on the line, the stakes couldn’t be much higher so it’s all to play for one last time for the best throwers of 2022 in the Amateur Darts Circuit.
