Barbarian Bags Champions Week Crown

Red Dragon Darts

Conan Whitehead was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Champions Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Graham Usher in the final and picking himself up a record £20,000 in prize money.

Whitehead, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, as he defeated Chris Mason, before losing to Josh Payne. In the Semi Finals, Whitehead took on Darryl Pilgrim, and edged through in a last leg decider, to defeat Pilgrim 4-3 and book his place in the Grand Final.

In the decider, Whitehead came up against Graham Usher, who’d defeated Josh Payne 4-3 in the previous round, and ‘The Barbarian’ demolished ‘The Gambler’ 4-0, sealing the victory with a 15 darter to clinch the title and picking up the £20,000 first prize and becoming the inaugural winner of the Modus Super Series.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 1 of Stage 2, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
