DartsWorld’s very own Gemma Hayter added the Lakeside Open Women’s title to her ever-growing 2026 collection with a 5-4 victory over Macy Gibbons in a best-of-nine final that went to the final leg. Hayter took home £700 from her victory, with Gibbons picking up £300.

Hayter’s route was the more imposing on paper. A 4-0 win over Gemma Reynolds in the last 16, then a 4-3 win over Eve Watson in the quarter-finals, followed by a 4-0 whitewash of Leanne Topper in the semi-finals.

Gibbons reached the final by beating Lorraine Hyde 4-2 in the semis, after a 4-1 win over Paula Jacklin in the last eight and a 4-3 win over Steph Clarke in the last 16.

Topper’s run included a quarter-final win over Deta Hedman, 4-2 in a match with almost identical averages, while Hyde beat Kelly Haverson 4-0 in the last eight.

Gibbons posted the higher average in the final (73.36 to 70.08), but it was Hayter who took the title.

Sunday brings the final Women’s qualifier at Lakeside, with one place at the World Championship available to the winner.
