Wizard Wins Finals Spot

Colin Osborne secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning three of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.

The Wizard continued his fine run of form with at the Super Series. His last visit saw him reach the Saturday night Final with the almost unstoppable Scott Williams edging him out in the last four.

Osborne, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, won three matches from five to top the group overall, as he recorded victories over Nathan Girvan, Dan Read and Jelle Klaasen, with his two defeats coming against Gavin Carlin and Arron Monk, to end on 22 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Jelle Klaasen and Dan Read will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Klaasen ending on 16 points and Read on 14 points. The duo will be joined by Conan Whitehead, Darryl Pilgrim and Danny Smith.

Arron Monk, Nathan Girvan and Gavin Carlin will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4th, 5th and 6th respectively, with Monk and Girvan ending on 14 points each and Carlin on 10 points. The trio will be joined by Kevin Painter, Martyn Turner and Tony Wood.

Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30am GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
