Cameron Menzies claimed his second ProTour title of 2026 with a commanding 8-4 victory over Gian van Veen in the final of Players Championship 29 in Den Bosch. The Scottish number two produced a superb day of darts at the Maaspoort, winning seven matches to secure a fourth career PDC ranking title and the £15,000 top prize.
Menzies set the tone early with a 101-plus average in his opening-round win over Nick Kenny. He then edged past Canada’s Jim Long in a last-leg decider before seeing off Slovenian number one Benjamin Pratnemer 6-4.
A 6-4 success against top seed Wessel Nijman followed, taking Menzies into a third Players Championship final in his last five events.

The 37-year-old continued his charge by defeating Jeffrey de Graaf 6-3 in the quarter-finals and then overcoming Kevin Doets 7-5 in the semi-finals. In the final he raced into a remarkable 5-0 lead, denying van Veen a single dart at double in a blistering opening spell.
Although the Dutchman responded with three consecutive legs, Menzies regained control and closed out the match 8-4.
“I just wanted to win a game today. To go and win another ProTour is awesome. I’m so happy,” said Menzies.
“I think this is my fifth year on the tour and I’ve won four ProTours. That’s not bad I suppose!
“My aim is to make a good life for myself. That’s the aim that I think is achievable, but winning a major and having a good run at the World Championship would be amazing.
“I’ve put more effort in this year than I ever have because I nearly lost it all and I’m grateful to be in this position.”
Van Veen reached his first Players Championship final of 2026 after an impressive run that featured clinical finishing throughout. He whitewashed Tommy Morris 6-1, defeated Daniel Klose, posted a 104.78 average against Darius Labanauskas, and came from 5-3 down to edge Nathan Aspinall in a last-leg decider.

A match-winning 120 checkout helped him past Chris Dobey in the quarters before a 7-5 win over William O’Connor secured his place in the final.
Elsewhere, Kevin Doets reached a seventh Players Championship semi-final of the season, while William O’Connor also progressed to the last four.
Chris Dobey (above) produced a series of ton-plus averages, and Challenge Tour call-up Archie Self claimed his first ProTour wins. Michael van Gerwen and second seed Luke Woodhouse were among the early casualties.
Cristo Reyes and Max Hopp both achieved perfection when they hit nine-darters during the day.
