Colin Osborne was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 4 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Arron Monk in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
Osborne, who entered the finale having won Group A earlier in the week, won just one of his group phase matches, by winning his opener against Gavin Carlin, before losing to Darryl Pilgrim. ‘The Wizard’ eventually progressed through to the Semi Finals.
The 46-year-old then came up against former World and reigning Dutch Open champion Jelle Klaasen. ‘The Cobra’ was edged out in a nerve jangling last leg decider, 4-3, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Osborne, a Darts World contributor, came up against Arron Monk, who defeated Darryl Pilgrim in the last four, with the Former UK Open Finalist dispatching his opponent, 4-1, to take the Week 4 crown of Stage 2, seal his place in Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 weekly 1st prize.
A strong social media reaction followed The Wizard’s win, with many referencing Colin’s battle back to event winning form:
