Gary Stone, Graham Usher, Josh Payne, Paul Hogan and James Richardson all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Gian Van Veen, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Stone, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, won four matches from five again as the Scotsman topped the group overall, as he recorded victories over Arjan Konterman, Diogo Portela, Adam Lipscombe and Danny Lauby, with his only defeat coming against Graham Usher, as he ended on 16 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Graham Usher also secured his place in Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, finishing behind Stone on leg difference, as Arjan Konterman finished 3rd on 10 points, with the three remaining players in Lipscombe, Lauby and Portela finishing 4th, 5th and 6th respectively on 6 points each.
In Group B, Josh Payne topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches during Friday’s evening session, as he recorded victories over James Richardson, David Cameron and Andy Jenkins, with his only defeat coming against Paul Hogan, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Paul Hogan and James Richardson also secured their spots in Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Hogan ending on 10 points and Richardson on 8 points, as David Cameron and Andy Jenkins finished joint bottom on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 6 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
