Jenkins Edged Out By Haines

Johnny Haines secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, despite only winning two of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.

Haines, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, won just two matches from five to top the group overall, with his decisive victory coming against Terry Jenkins in the penultimate game of the day, which ended up being a shootout tie between the pair to decide who would secure an automatic place through to Saturday’s finale, with Haines finishing on 20 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Neil Duff and Terry Jenkins will compete in Group B, after the pair finished joint 2nd overall on 18 points each and will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Kevin Edwards, Paul Linwood and Richard Stride.

Adam Lipscombe, Mark McGeeney and Tony O’Shea will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4th, 5th and 6th respectively overall, with Lipscombe finishing on 14 points, McGeeney on 12 points and O’Shea on 8 points. The trio will be joined by Darryl Fitton, Mark Lawrence and Vince Tipple.

Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30am GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT.
