Scott Walters, Matt Clark, Alexander Merkx, Adam Mould and Raymond Smith all secured their places in Saturday’s Champions Week finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Jim McEwan, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Walters, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group A, topped the group overall, after winning four matches from five, as he recorded victories over Justin Smith, Martin Adams, John Henderson and Colin Osborne, with his only defeat coming against Matt Clark, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Matt Clark also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points and edging past Colin Osborne, who also ended on 12 points, but missed out on leg difference, whilst Justin Smith finished 4th on 10 points, Martin Adams in 5th on 8 points and John Henderson bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Alexander Merkx topped the group overall, despite only winning two matches from four on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories over Johnny Haines and Jamie Kelling, with defeats coming against Adam Mould and Raymond Smith, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Adam Mould and Raymond Smith also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Mould ending on 10 points and Smith on 8 points, whilst Jamie Kelling and Johnny Haines ended 4th and 5th on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Champions Week with the six players battling it out for the record breaking £20,000 1st prize, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on The Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
