Danny Lauby, Jack Main, Ryan Furness, Dom Taylor and Andy Jenkins all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Jelle Klaasen, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Lauby, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, won four matches from five to top the group overall, as he recorded victories over Moreno Blom, Carl Wilkinson, Mark Dudbridge and Josh McCarthy, with his only defeat coming against Jack Main, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Jack Main also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging past Josh McCarthy, who also ended on 12 points, but finished 3rd and missed out on leg difference, whilst Moreno Blom finished 4th on 10 points, Mark Dudbridge in 5th on 8 points and Carl Wilkinson bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Ryan Furness topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories over Paul Hogan, Andy Jenkins and Dom Taylor, with his only defeat coming against Jarred Cole, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Dom Taylor and Andy Jenkins also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Taylor ending on 12 points and Jenkins on 8 points, whilst Paul Hogan finished 4th on 6 points and Jarred Cole bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 3 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
