Chris Gilliland and Reece Colley took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join John Henderson in the Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Gilliland, who entered Group C having finished bottom of Group A earlier in the week, won four matches from five to take the early lead, as he recorded victories against Ryan Murray, Chris Wickenden, Shaun Griffiths and Vitezslav Sedlak, with his only defeat coming against Neil Duff.
Elsewhere, Neil Duff also ended the day on 8 points, but sits behind Gilliland on leg difference, whilst Ryan Murray sits in 3rd on 6 points, Chris Wickenden in 4th on 4 points, with Shaun Griffiths and Vitezslav Sedlak sitting 5th and 6th respectively on 2 points each.
In Group B, incredibly, all five players ended the night on 4 points each, with Reece Colley leading the way on leg difference, followed by Martyn Turner in 2nd, Dan Read in 3rd, Lukas Wenig in 4th and Darren Johnson bottom.
Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join John Henderson in Saturday’s finale, with Gilliland and Colley taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
